It's time to resign, Hank Huckaby

From Paul Pierce, not the Boston Celtics player: It's official: Chancellor of the University System of Georgia, Hank Huckaby, is an idiot. As one of the UGA Drama Majors he just insulted, I can easily inform him of how a Un iversity of Georgia theatre degree prepared many, many of my colleagues for excellent careers in a wide range of fields. Yes, many of us have collected our paychecks as actors, directors, designers, playwrights and producers, including plenty of Drama Dawgs with brilliant Broadway and Hollywood careers. But many others have prospered in business, law, engineering, education and scores of jobs on the cutting edge of technology and the rising Creative Economy. Why? Because a drama degree provides these special students with advanced skills which are pure gold in the global marketplace: collaboration and innovation. By the way, Chancellor Dimwit, I invite you to pay a visit to the State Theatre of Georgia here in Columbus so I can show you an engine for regional

Be on the look out for a pewter colored pick up truck with trailer in connection with Waffle House waitress homicide

Image
The following is directly from the Oconee County Sheriff's Office: We are looking for a Chevy or GMC single-cab, short-bed pick-up truck that is pewter in color. It was seen on Simonton Bridge Road on Wednesday at the time Misty Myrick's body was discovered. We need to talk to the driver of this vehicle as they may be a witness. The truck was pulling a trailer. A picture of a truck is attached depicting the body style and color of the truck that is of interest. It is not the actual truck. The roadway was shut down earlier today to do a scale diagram of the scene. We have no reason to believe that residents in the area are in any particular danger.

I really loved getting served at Waffle House by this wonderful angel - so very sad

The following is from the Oconee County Sheriff's Office - I talked about Christ with this woman all the time when she worked at the Waffle House on 441 in Oconee County. She had been working downtown the last time I ate there maybe three months ago. So very sad.   The woman found deceased yesterday along Simonton Bridge Road has been identified as Misty Michelle Myrick (38) of Oglethorpe County. The crime lab has determined that the death is a homicide. We will not be disclosing the manner in which she was killed. We ask that people do not post rumors and speculation.
