Former Oconee County Democratic Chair Becky Vaughn ran against former State Representative Bob Smith and former State Senator Brian Kemp for various offices and recently moved to Washington, DC to become a full time lobbyist while renting out her Oconee County home. The real estate market has improved enough where she sold her Jennings Mill house, and she is selling various items tomorrow. I would suggest entering on the back side off Jimmy Daniel Road and it is the second or third house on the right side on Meriweather coming from that direction off 316. Becky Vaughn: Oconee BOE deserves pay hike | Athens Banner-Herald Former two-time Oconee County Democratic chair, twice failed candidate for local office and current Washington DC lobbyist Becky Vaughn pretty much guaranteed her own future local political irrelevancy with a letter to the Athens Banner-Herald supporting the equally poorly timed chime for raises asked for by the new Oconee County Board of Education.  Whether deserved or not, the BOE remains stained by the demand rejected by the local legislative delegation, whether the rug was pulled out from under them or not. I have been battling an upper respiratory infection and what little energy I could muster has been directed toward my son and his basketball team. Tomorrow I turn 46 and I am on the mend. We also have another Oconee Recreation Department game tomorrow night as well. For those of you coming to the annual Oconee County Democratic Committee Christmas Holiday meeting, you can come at 7 pm if you do not want to hear the votes and business discussions in the early part (6:30 pm) of the meeting on Meriweather Drive in Bogart. I would strongly suggest taking Jimmy Daniel Road to the back end of the Jennings Mill Golf and Country Club. The basic design of the incandescent bulb has changed very little since Thomas Edison’s day. As the need for energy efficiency becomes more urgent because of rising energy costs and the threat of global climate change, one technology is looking especially bright: LED lighting.
