The Life and Legacy of Jeannette Rankin program at Oconee Library opens March Madness

It is appropriate the month long celebration of Jeannette Rankin's 130 years of life and legacy should commence in Oconee County where her distinctive roundhouse remains near Butler's Crossing. This amazing American heroine planted roots firmly in our Bogart and Watknsville soil long after her two terms in Congress, being not only the first female member but also the only member to have voted against the US entry into World War I and II.  There will be five other celebrations of her life at libraries across the area in the days and weeks to come. March madness indeed http://www.libs.uga.edu/blog/?p=3039
