Friday evening after business hours is hardly ever the ideal time for a water main to burst, but that is what happened At 1110 Jeremy Drive in Morgan Manor Estates subdivision in Watkinsville.  Initially there was quite a deluge of water toward the sewer near Katie Lane, but the raging torrent soon subsided to a regular stream of eater on both sides of the street. The Oconee County Utility Department responded and was  digging some holes to try to stem the tide.

At the corner of White Street and Thrasher Drive there is a water main break.  The Oconee County Utility Department is in the process of repairing.  Please avoid this area today if at all possible.  Thank you.   Julie A.
