REGINA QUICK in the NEWS - Support Growing!

I strongly urge everyone in the 117th to support Regina Quick in the GOP Primary July 31st Sincerely,  Dan Matthews Date: Wed, 6 Jun 2012 02:20:31 -0400 Subject: REGINA QUICK in the NEWS - Support Growing! From: angelameltzer.cpa@gmail.com To: angelameltzer.cpa@gmail.com REGINA QUICK IN THE NEWS # 1 It's very exciting to be reporting that Regina Quick is receiving fantastic support from all over the district and, quite wonderfully, very bi-partisan support . BOTH Democrats and Republicans are behind Regina. In addition, support is coming from outside the district too. Seems people from "other parts too" really do want to be rid of McKillip in the State House. Oconee BOE bans Oconee County Democratic Party website, but Republicans are allowed in with their site

Whether this is an oversight or an actual attempt at stifling the flow of information remains to be seen, but because of the criticism of some schools and policies, this blog as well as the official Oconee County Democratic Committee website are currently blocked from view at the computers of the Oconee County School system. The Oconee County Republican party's website has been approved for viewing at school's terminals and laptops. Dr. Hale told me today that the political websites need to be part of the curriculum or requested by a teacher at the school. And some gutter snipe removed the cardboard from a Scott Berry sign in my yard, but they let me keep the metal stantion. Don't suppose it was any of the kids down the street whose parents have multiple signs for his opponent, would you?

More on stolen signs and a description of the suspect

At least we have a witness. I would suggest calling the non-emergency number 706-769-5665 of the Oconee County Sheriff's Department if you live outside Watkinsville or the Watkinsville Police Department 706-7697891 if the thefts continue. Political Yard Sign Vandalism continues unabated in both Oconee and Walton counties for Democratic candidates including Sherry Jackson, Barack Obama

More examples of neighborhood hoodlums or perhaps something more sinister (such as an organized effort by the GOP?)Heard that some Sherry Jackson's signs in both Oconee and Walton counties have gone missing as well. Fwd: POLITICAL SIGN VANDALISM

This sent into me by a reader I presume ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: William Sapp Date: Sat, Oct 11, 2008 at 9:57 PM Subject: POLITICAL SIGN VANDALISM I live at the edge of Athens-Clarke County with a long Belmont Road frontage.  I've been engaged in a political sign war with vandals or perhaps just one vandal with a penchant for stealing Obama signs by the score.  Usually this slimy vandal(s) strikes in the dead of night...I must have replaced 20 signs!  Rarely signs disappear in broad daylight.  Are these anti-American types so stupid that they don't realize when they see twice as many signs reappear after they've struck that the candidate is benefiting more from their vandalism than ever?  I've spent around $100 just to keep up with him..but  by now I've had it.  I've resorted to  night stakeouts with flash digital camera, air horn, and cell phone poised to call the cops.  Are these thieves unawar...

signs, signs, everywhere a sign

Image
These are pictures of campaign yard signs snapped around Butler's Crossing and Watkinsville areas in Oconee County. The Bolin sign is left over or reused from eight years ago and reflects a certain degree of lingering animosity toward two-term incumbent Board of Commissioners chairman G. Melvin Davis

Graphically speaking, who is Toney Boe?

I am a yard sign person. Plant a picket with me. The young ruffians in my subdivision and surrounding areas of Watkinsville do not like the growing number of signs in yard. The vandalism has increased from pulling the signs off the metal posts to now bending over the metal support frame. No sign by itself has ever won an election by itself, but signs are a way to energize the supporters and show the increasing popularity of a candidate. Seldom has a local campaign won without signs, but I am sure it has happened somewhere in the recent past. The simpler the sign the better in my humble estimation. Less is more, more or less. Sometimes signs will have only the basics. The most minimalist sign this time around in Oconee County, Georgia has to be the simple green sign of Chuck Toney, running for the Board of Education, post 4 versus Mike Hunter. So far I have not seen a Tom Breedlove or Mike Hunter sign (but I am sure they are there), but the Toney signs simply say TONEY BOE in two decks ...

Friends of kids across the street put a Huckabee sign in my yard this morning

The juvenile delinquents who have befriended the children across the street in my subdivision decided to pull a little prank and remove the Huckabee for President sign from my other neighbor's yard and place it in mine late Saturday night. I took the sign out and returned it to the rightful owner. I will make the requisite police report of this continued pattern of harassment perpetrated by the punks. Perhaps they will see the error in their ways (doubt it). Glad our next generation is taking politics more seriously than their education or social skills. It is going to be a long and bitter campaign, but please respect private property, do not trespass or vandalize my property, and do not place other people's yard signs in my yard. PS: OK, so one of my readers did call me out on the the fact that I would be wasting the time of the local police by calling them up and making them fill out a report. No argument here on that. I should have flagged down the officer who routinely patr...
