Evita Paschall -
http://chronicle.augusta.com/stories/030107/met_118443.shtml
Ms. Paschall, 55, has practiced law in Augusta for 31
years, beginning her career in the Richmond County
District Attorney's office after graduating from the
University of Georgia School of Law in 1976.
She went into private practice with Carl Brown - now
an Augusta Judicial Circuit Superior Court judge - in
1979 before opening her own practice in 1981.
She has served as an assistant solicitor in Richmond
County State Court and solicitor of Richmond County
Civil and Magistrate Court.
In 1992, she was appointed judge of Augusta Recorder's
Court, which was abolished when the city and county
governments consolidated in 1996.
Ms. Paschall said she decided to run for the 10th
District seat because she feels she has much to offer
because of her legal experience and community
involvement.
"One of the things I'm concerned about is health care
and the effect of cutbacks on veterans' medical
treatment and their health plans," she said.
Since 2002, Ms. Paschall has sponsored an oratorical
scholarship program in Thomson.
She also founded and sponsors an annual basketball
clinic.
"I am around the community a lot, and I'm aware of the
needs and wants of people," she said. "I live in
Columbia County. I'm from McDuffie County, and I work
in Richmond County. And I went to law school in
Athens."

(She apparently ran for Congress in the 10th District
in 1998 and in the 12th in 2000 and 2002 - could not
find anything else.)
