Martin, Powell go down big time, Doyle edges through

The notoriously fickle Georgia electorate proved to be predictable and even returned Senator Clarence Saxby Chambliss with a much wider margin than many predicted. It was a gaudy 58-41 GOP bulge with 88% counted just now for the Senate race. The Republican Party painted Martin with the Raising Taxes curse and Martin never adequately responded to any of their attacks. Even worse may be Jim Powell losing out of the PSC to Lauren "Bubba" McDonald. Powell was pulling in one percent more in the returns than Martin. At least Sara Doyle came back and held off Mike Sheffield in the Appeals Court.

The Watkinsville City Cemetery is an oasis amidst the houses on the east side of the municipality, near the neighborhood once called Sidney. There is a large section of the cemetery that remains a mystery, but perhaps we can work together to dignify the eternal resting spot somewhat better than the current neglected and forgotten (not to mention unmarked) graves of 70 people, more than likely of African-American descent. They deserve to be honored as well. An effort has been undertaken to repair the graves with fill dirt to stop the continued erosion amongst the graves. Osborne dug his own hole deeper with this comment swiped from the Athens Banner-Herald's comment section

There is no way of knowing with absolute certainty if this is indeed the comment swiped from the article of the Athens Banner-Herald newspaper yesterday of evidently now former North Oconee principal John Osborne or not, but home slice needs to learn from Bill Hamby and Rick Pitino as when to shut the fuck up: I have never in my life posted a to a blog, vent site or sent an editorial, but obviously there are lots of misperceptions out there.
