Looks like an Oconee County protest for President Obama's health care reform - can anyone say Let's Support our Commander in Chief?

I do not agree with the insurance industry led protests of these misguided buffoons, but I support their right to peaceably assemble, even next to my beloved soccer field. Wonder how many Nazi and Communist symbols will be on display? Sounds like the nuts will be out in force for this one, not just the birthers and deathers. No Death Panel discussions? Oconee Healthcare Reform Protest

Exercise you First Amendment rights by joining The Citizens for Ethical Government in a peaceful demonstration against the various healthcare “reform” proposals being put forth by congressional Democrats and the Obama Administration.

The event, slated for Saturday, August 29, will take place at 10:30 a.m. at Oconee Veterans Park, located on Highway 53 in Watkinsville. Invited speakers include State Representative Bob Smith (District 113), State Senator Bill Cowsert (District 46), U.S. Representative Paul Broun (District 10), and Oconee Leader editor and publisher Rob Peecher, among others. There will also be people displaying signs at the Butler’s Crossing intersection and in downtown Watkinsville.

• Oconee and surrounding counties’ residents are welcome
• Bring your own signs
• Donations will be accepted to defray the cost of the event and publicity

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

The booking photo is not to be placed on any web page that charges a fee for booking photo removal. Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
