OCRD Picture Day, Punt Pass & Kick and Soccer

The rains we have received lately are a blessing as an inch below the top soil it is still bone dry in our Oconee County soil, but it has taken its toll on our Fall Soccer program with cancellations Thursday already. The Picture Day tomorrow will go rain or shine at the Oconee Veterans Park.

Attention OCPRD Football, Flag Football, Cheerleading, and Soccer Parents:

 

Soccer games  for Saturday are still on as scheduled. Please check the weather hotline for cancelation updates. 706-769-2965

 

Pictures are still a on as scheduled  - rain or shine. If it rains you will go inside the building  located in the Park where you were scheduled.

 

Please review the schedule or check with your coach  about  which park to report to for pictures and for the game.

Picture Locations:

OVP ? Oconee Veterans Park  wil host pictures at Community Center

HCM ? Herman C. Michael Park wil host pictures at Brannon Building

 

ALL SOCCER:Tuesday and Thursday's  cancelled soccer games have already been assigned a make up date. The revised schedules have been posted to our website.

 

U8 Teams  should review the schedule  as  the OCMS MICRO Fields  will host games for  some U8 teams that don't usually go to that location.

Jeff Dantzler's arrests may be the best thing that ever happened to him

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. I work for a lawyer who could help him out if he does not having someone already representing him. This man is a great broadcaster and I hope this arrest serves as a wake-up call for him and his rock and roll lifestyle. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

The booking photo is not to be placed on any web page that charges a fee for booking photo removal. Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
