Subject: OCPRD Volleyball Instructors and League Coaches Needed

Parents and Participants,

The Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department is in need of paid instructors and volunteer league coaches for our Spring 2010 Youth Volleyball Program.  The OCPRD recreational volleyball program has been a growing over the last few years and there has been a great interest in the sport of volleyball from our participants.  It is our hope to provide a quality recreational sports program that gives our youth volleyball participants an opportunity to learn and succeed!

Basic Information ? OCPRD Spring Volleyball 2010:

Volleyball 1 (ages 9 - 11) Instructional Program

-       Oconee Veterans Park

-       6:15 - 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays

-       March 9 - May 6

-       Instructor Payment: contact for more information

Volleyball 2 (ages 12 - 14) League Play

-       Oconee Veterans Park & Herman C. Michael Park (depending on # of teams)

-       7:30 - 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays

-       Player evaluations on March 2nd

-       March 9 - May 6

-       Volunteer Coaches needed

Jeff Dantzler's arrests may be the best thing that ever happened to him

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

The booking photo is not to be placed on any web page that charges a fee for booking photo removal. Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
