Your morning jolt: Republicans put distance between themselves and the state Capitol | Political Insider

This is some great reporting right on the heels of a Primary Tuesday in Georgia.
I recommend voting for the Democratic Porters for Governor and Lieutenant Governor, although I think Roy will win without a run-off.
I now wish I had voted for Jeff Chapman as a protest vote in the G.O.P. governor's race, but instead I marked Handel. I would like to see an Oxendine - Deal run-off for the sheer idiocy and cannibalism it would produce, but would bet instead on Oxendine - Handel. I may switch in the run off as a tactical move and not to keep supporting anyone endorsed by Sarah Palin, even for strategic reasons.
Anyone but Hudgens in the insurance commissioners race, but he may win because he spent wisely on TV ads. There will surely be an August run-off on this.
The two G.O.P. races I am most interested in are MacGinnitie - Kemp for G.O.P. nomination for Secretary of State and the local Margaret Hale - Tammy Gilland locally. Also the Democratic race featuring Keith Heard and Dr. Holly Ward in Athens 113th and the Kirk Shook - Hank Huckaby - Tommy Malcom contest in the 113th Republican race to replace Bob Smith. Shook's radio ads shook up one local voice that she requested and received a replacement from Miami on the spot for the Cox radio spot. I wonder how many real votes showed up at the Cracker Barrel Saturday?
