Notice about the water main break from Alan Theriault

URGENT IFORMATION!!!
Please be advised that there was a water main break yesterday on 15 South near Athens First. Water was down for about 4 hours and was up again yesterday. Today, that line ruptured in another location relatively close to the one yesterday and because of the nature of this break, we will be forced to issue a “BOIL WATER” advisory for customers in the City of Watkinsville and points south.

This is precautionary, and notifications are being made in the media, on the web and through the city.

Years ago, the water line was installed laying across a sewer line, and today’s break caused a rupture in both. I will advise as more information becomes available.

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

The booking photo is not to be placed on any web page that charges a fee for booking photo removal. Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
