Greetings-
Please join us at the Oconee Farmers Market this Saturday morning, April 21st, in front of the Oconee County Courthouse.

Our vendors will be bringing a variety of items including Animal Welfare approved and certified beef, bagels, breads, english muffins, cinnamon raisin swirl, challah, cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, granola, Blueberry Cream Cheese and Caramel Cake, Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie, Chocolate Chess and Lemon Chess Pie, fried pies, muffins, cookies and dog biscuits. We will also have fried and boiled peanuts, pork rinds and beef jerky, lettuce, kale, chard, green garlic and fresh, dried and dehydrated shiitake mushrooms, strawberry jam, jellies, assorted herbs-both fresh cut and potted in 4" and gallon containers.

There will also be raw and scented shea butter, black soap, assorted sea salts, handcrafted beeswax lip balms and candles, birdhouses, squirrel feeders, gorgeous gourds and jewelry from found and recycled objects, cut flowers, colorful hanging baskets, Japanese maples, peonies, heucheras, impatiens, verbena, blue wave petunias, 6" pots of ajuga, dianthus, lantana and dragonwing begonia. Vendors will also have 2x2 cells of sweet potato vine, 6x6 packs of blue and red salvia and much more.

And as always free coffee will be available.

Jeff Dantzler's arrests may be the best thing that ever happened to him

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. I work for a lawyer who could help him out if he does not having someone already representing him. This man is a great broadcaster and I hope this arrest serves as a wake-up call for him and his rock and roll lifestyle. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

The booking photo is not to be placed on any web page that charges a fee for booking photo removal. Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
