Teen suicide takes too many lives locally but deserves scrutiny and solutions, not merely mourning

I grieve for the families involved, but the unspoken truth here echoed in the comments section of this poorly edited article is that people cannot criticize ANYTHING about suicides without offending someone/anyone or their professional mourner counterparts will jump down your throat with vengeance and anger. Suicide sucks. Plain and simple. That much said, the self inflicted death of anyone does not provide license or give the right of the family or those who claim to represent the family to badger those who disagree with their mode of mourning or commemoration. It stinks that our teenagers are so easily taken by their own hands and yes, something/anything could and should have been done to prevent these tragedies. That is not to blame or condemn the parents or parties involved, nor to absolve them from blame or guilt either. Speculation seldom solves any problems, especially after blood was spilled. But several germane points: can anyone tell me precisely where "Oconee Memorial Park" is? I realize this is probably just a mistake on the part of the writer but it is indeed a crucial one. Second, releasing balloons while poignant is a scourge on the environment. I would instead suggest Chinese floating lanterns. Third, why not write the article instead about what possible causes/solutions can be used to prevent this epidemic from taking another victim? I realize that suicides are horrible and can shatter families and communities. I do not pretend to have any answers other than keep your firearms locked up and the keys to those locks not easily accessed. So gripe all you want about the people who point out the fallacies and foibles of all our families situations, but that does not do a damn thing to stop kids from killing themselves, does it?
