Important historical society meeting

I would urge you to attend the Oconee County Historical Society meeting to assist with their ambitious endeavors in the near future. I think the cemetery sign project is fantastic. Also big props to the fine folks at Bethel Baptist Church in cleaning up the more neglected areas of the cemetery a few weekends back. Sent: Tuesday, September 4, 2012 10:00 AM Subject: important historical society meeting We will have a regular meeting of the historical society this month: Monday, September 17 th 7pm at OCAF.  This is a very important meeting.  There have been new developments concerning our cemetery sign project and we need to all put our heads together and figure out where we want to direct our efforts next and how we want to handle the current changes.  Please come help us plan. Peggy

Emanicipation Proclamation service 2009 at Bethel Baptist

I listened to Tim Bryant talk to Rev. Marvin Nunnaly yesterday on his Newsmakers show and this sounds like an important gathering to start the New Year. I went to the recently expanded church for the Burnell Brown funeral last week and was extremely grateful for the Chief Lee O'Dillon and the Watkinsville Police Department for traffic assistance and helping people cross the busy Highway 441 extension at the church as we parked in front of Sunshine Cycles and Art Masters with the overflow crowd. Expect a packed house again tomorrow.
