Time has come to canvass Oconee County - and we need you

Everyone who CARES DEEPLY about voting is invited to participate in KNOCKING ON DOORS in Oconee County this weekend.   I will be walking at 10 a.m. on Saturday.    I’ll be meeting with Steve at 9:45 a.m. at Jittery’s for my training and map. The walks on Saturday are at 10, 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday.   Please meet with Steven Specyal at 15 minutes before your walking time on these dates for training,packets, and maps.    Best, Margaret

 The following are a series of photos from the free performance of Isaac Bramblett at the Watkinsville Jittery Joe's a couple weeks ago in a performance designed to heighten awareness of ACTION, Inc. being moved out of this area, and the need for a local headquarters for this important group. It would be nice to find a new area around here for this referral agency. It helps refer families in need with the assistance including food and shelter.  According to Oconee Patch:  Action Incorporated is located at 4951 Macon Highway (441). MINUTES Oconee County Democratic Committee Meeting  7:30 PM THURSDAY, MARCH 17 TH , 2011 @ JITTERY JOE'S WATKINSVILLE Dan Matthews, chair, called the meeting to Order at 7:33.  There was a quorum present and Dan welcomed guests, Ben Emmanuel and Micaela Hobbs. State Committee election

Vickie Moody has expressed interest in continuing as our State Committee member, but she has encouraged anyone else who is interested to also run for the position whose qualifications are to be a resident of and registered to vote in Oconee County.  The election for State Committee member will be held at the next Democratic Committee meeting on February 17 at 7:30 pm at Jittery Joes in Watkinsville.

This week in Oconee County Politcs

The Oconee County Democratic Committee will be meeting at Jittery Joe's in Watkinsville 7:00 pm Thursday, January 20th, 2010. On the agenda that evening will include a brief presentation from UGA journalism professor and local investigative blogger Lee Becker will talk about what issues Oconee County  residents hold dear and also former US Senate candidate R.J. Hadley of Conyers will be discussing his candidacy for the Vice Chair of County Parties for the Democratic Party of Georgia. There will be some brief business to attend to about who from Oconee County will be voting in the state convention in Warner Robins January 29. There will also be some discussion of the Coffee Party of America's Movement for the People commemorating the Supreme Court decision of a year ago to allow corporations to contribute with no limits to political campaigns.
