So it seems there is an imposter or at least semi-anonymous poster on the Athens Banner-Herald website onlineathens.com who goes by the seemingly innocuous name of "Obama2012" that has made the same exact post four times in four different articles (all concerning the Regina Quick-Doug McKillip primary race) in an obvious non-whisper campaign at an attempt at somehow backwards besmirching of Regina Quick and questioning her personal live. There are references to Log Cabin Republicans repeated over and over again in this person's stilted and incongruous post that have almost nothing to do with the tenor or subject of the articles except that it includes Regina Quick. This reeks of sleazy attacks and dirty tricks, and I have a pretty good idea of who is engineering this stunt (just can't prove it yet). As anyone who has met and talked to me for more than five minutes can routinely attest to, I am a red blooded American 48-year-old heterosexual male. I guess that my 12 year old son was not a big enough give away for some of our more narrow-minded gossip deprived bigots. I am responding to a rumor reported to me by a contemporary who heard from his father that some rather frightened right wing elements of our community were busy engaging in a smear campaign questioning my sexuality. Since the day I announced to run, I have kept to the issues facing Georgia and have not once made a personal attack on my opponents. I have stated many times when asked about the incident reported, I was not going there and that I could bea t the incumbent Lieutenant Governor on his poor record on the issues facing Georgians. It is obvious from the viciousness of his false attacks on me that I am doing just that. I have been endorsed by leading Republican pundits and by Republican leaning newspapers. I am getting the cross over needed in Georgia to win and Cagle sees that.
