We extend to her parents, Dinesh and Tina, her brother, Anshul, her extended family, and her classmates and teachers at Athens Academy our sincere sympathy. A quiet, thoughtful girl, Kajal was devoted to her family and showed her strength by never complaining, despite living with pain during her long illness. While fighting her illness, she was the inspiration for a bone marrowthon that is providing life-saving marrow to others. She is a hero to many, and her legacy of service to others will live on. The memories of Kajal, the little girl with the big smile, will remain with us as we mourn the loss of her life.  There will be a memorial service for Kajal. ...

The Edge of Healing - Athens Academy 6th graders tribute to their classmate to the tune of Lady Gaga

This video was put together by the 6th grade class at Athens Academy and yes you can see my son at least twice playing "air guitar" with a plant and some of his buddies at least twice. It is nice to see how much can be accomplished when kids and teachers get together and use the resources of this school to their fullest. Well done kids, and yes I urge you to go get swabbed at Tate Center March 28th from 10 am to 4 pm to give this young lady a chance at finding that 1 in 20,000 match to help in her bone marrow battles.  The Edge of Healing
