 I must admit I had a little apprehension about the flag planting ceremony in commemoration of the events of September 11, 2001 at North Oconee High School. My trepidation was misplaced however, and everyone was welcome, even my dog Katrina, North Oconee High School teacher Kirk Shook invited me specifically and was very busy organizing a very well run show out at the school in Bogart. No one asked my political affiliation, and I saw one Make America Great Again shirt (I say it is already great) and one Kemp for Governor shirt. There was one girl wearing a traditional Muslim head wear and no one shouted any profanities or raised an eyebrow to my point of view. I wore my Come Home America shirt from the George S. McGovern school from Dakota Wesleyan. There were people of color and at least several candidates and elected officials besides myself. North Oconee girls soccer beats Oconee County 3-1

At Bogart, Erin Roche scored two second-half goals to lead North Oconee to the Region 8-AAA championship. After a scoreless first half, Oconee County’s Anna Kate Brown scored the game’s first goal with 29 minutes remaining in the second half. Roche evened the score a 1-1 with an unassisted goal with 14 minutes remaining, and she put the Titans up 2-1 about six minutes later with another unassisted goal. Jessie Denney completed the scoring with four minutes remaining on a penalty kick. North Oconee (12-0-2, 6-0) — ranked No. 9 in Class AAA — will host Madison County at 5:30 p.m. today. Tax Commissioner candidate Jennifer Riddle responds to the question from NewsTalk 1340 WGAU AM talk show host and moderator Tim Bryant about an opening statement after he read a statement from her opponent Pamela Lohr Hendrix, who was absent from the forum because of a vacation scheduled for a long time before the forum sponsored by the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce. Riddle works in the office in the basement of the Oconee County Courthouse while Hendrix is on the Tax Equalization Board and has run for Superior Court Judge unsuccessfully before. State Representative Doug McKillip has decided to force Georgia women to have government mandated child birth after being "born again" himself. No word as to whether he is allowed to change his mind after 20 or 23 or 26 weeks. Also no word as to whether the child birth mandate applies to females as young as 12 years old or as old as 69.
