Athens man charged with raping 12-year-old Oconee girl
A 20-year-old Athens man charged Thursday with molesting a 12-year-old girl at her home in Oconee County had assault charges dropped against him in Athens for an alleged attack on a 13-year-old girl in 2013. Rivington Bradford Jr., is charged with aggravated sodomy, child molestation, false imprisonment and rape for Thursday morning’s attack on the girl in her home, located in a neighborhood off Epps Bridge Parkway, according to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. Bradford remained in jail Friday morning without bond. Bradford was arrested in July 2010 for assaulting a girl in Athens who told police he began sexually assaulting her, until her brother entered the room and attacked Bradford, police said. Bradford was charged with sexual battery in that incident, but a Clarke County grand jury declined to indict him on the charge.
