Maybe this will begin to show the average good ol' boy redneck tailgaters at UGA football games that the Republican party in Georgia really does not have the best interests of the University of Georgia football team in mind when they created xenophobic laws that have denied us a really big lineman. Seems like big time college football programs like USC (not South Carolina but you can bet Steve Spurrier is laughing at us again), Utah, Brigham Young, Utah State, Hawaii, Boise State and a few dozen other schools have been kicking our ass for the better part of a generation now when it comes to recruiting Samoans and other Pacific Rim athletes. I would be willing to bet that most of the Republican legislators who voted for the restrictive immigration laws would have reconsidered how they voted if they knew it would cause the beloved University of Georgia an offensive lineman from Samoa. Oh well how about offer the same full ride to an all state lineman from North Oconee High School named Joseph Scelfo. I believe his father coached here. Lights out for the G.O.P.? Not by a long shot.
