Reply-To: Patsy Harris < patsydudney@yahoo.com > Those Clarke County Dems have 700 Obama/Biden signs they want to sell to YOU! Do you need 50 or 100 for your county's Democrats? Each sign is $3.50 (includes wire stands) and must be picked up at the Clarke Co. Dems' Headquarters, 160 Tracy St., Athens. Call Karen at 706 546-7075 Patsy "Don't tell me what you believe in. All is well on the campaign trail 2012 pre-qualifying GOP edition

Even though I am not running for office this time, it is very entertaining for me to be on the other side of the political process, i.e. getting asked by candidates to vote for them. Qualifying is this week at the Oconee County Board of Elections and Registration in Watkinsville. This morning the Oconee County Democratic Committee manned (and woman-ed) a table to register voters. We did not have signs indicating such but were successful in having a presence there to let people know that the Democratic Party is alive and well in Georgia, and we are registering new voters. Oconee County is unusually well registered as a county populace, where something like 90% of those eligible to register have already. So a large portion of the people we handed registration forms to today were people who needed to change an address because of moving back into the county or whatever. We do not attempt to proselytize, persuade or otherwise engage in blanket recruitment tactics. We just want to increa...

Please attend the forum this evening at the Library

Many thanks in advance to Russ Page and Lee Becker for organizing the forum this evening at the Oconee County Library on Experiment Station Road (State Route 53) in Watkinsville for the House Special Election for District 113. I am looking forward to listening to and answering the questions of the concerned voters of the District. We will also have signs and bumper stickers for those who are interested in displaying those.

One tiny error on Oconee County ballot

I voted second in the county today during the start of the early voting period for the general election, coming in just behind the former Watkinsville City Council member John Hanely (father of G.O.P. chair Jay Hanley), and spotted one tiny misspelling on the ballot of one of the last names of the unopposed candidates for the Oconee County Board of Commissioners. John Daniell's last name was misspelled "Daniel" and I doubt this will stop anyone for voting for or against him. The advanced voting is adjacent (immediately south) to the Courthouse in the small building where zoning matters were once taken care of. Nearby neighbor "Cokey" Elder is once again in violation of having both too big a signs with the large Paul Broun sign on Water Street and being too close to a polling place for his abundance of signs. I have no problem with his right to display signs, just wonder if he could do so in a legal manner. I wish someone had the gall to remove or at least en...

This person and his wife were heckled by some neighbors of mine at the rally Saturday morning. He made the best sign and writes an eloquent letter to the editor in today's Athens Banner-Herald. J.P. Crisan: U.S. health care socialized now | Letters | OnlineAthens.com Shared via AddThis
