Watkinsville City Council agenda for March 14, 2014

Once again the changes under new Watkinsville Mayor Charles Ivie do not seem to be that big a deal all by themselves, but when one begins to compile a list, it begins to seem more and more insidious to the casual observer.  But hey, he is entitled to run the city the way he wants to, at least until the voters decide otherwise. Now the agenda only appear in advance on the door of the Watkinsville Community Center. The members of local media and blogging community received regular posts from City Clerk Julie Sanders for all kinds of information in the past, but seemingly no logner. Could this be an oversight or a decision from on high? Four business licenses will be approved for Robert Bentley who owns Southeast Miscellaneous Erectors, Inc. at 1140 Industrial Drive, Victoria Albanese for her eponymous licensed clinical social work at 47 Greensboro Highway Suite 3, Lisa Kenny for her School Fundraising Specialists at 1011 Mackenzie Lane, and Tim Dyer for Oconee Fence at 92 Cedar D...

New Shishkabobby restaurant coming to Town Center in Watkinsville soon

Although the last time I peered through the window and door of the former Gautreau's Restaurant location it looked weeks from being open, I eagerly anticipate the opening of the new Shishkabobby's Grille restaurant in my neighborhood where my son and I can go eat and enjoy our selection. I would imagine this will be one of those places where you can order your skewer with whatever meat or vegetable you want to and either watch it prepared or maybe even cook it at your table (although that would probably make the insurance bills skyrocket). Whatever the verdict, you can attend this week's Watkinsville City Council meeting and watch owner David Weeks, yes the same of the head of the Board of Education and owner of a Barberitos here in the county, come get his license for a new restaurant in town. Here is the rest of the agenda for the meeting: AGENDA CITY OF WATKINSVILLE September 10, 2008 CALL TO ORDER QUORUM CHECK WATKINSVILLE BEAUTIFUL YA...
