Hi everyone...we need some help from you. Next Tuesday, November 9th, at 7:00 PM in the community center at Oconee Veterans Park, Oconee County's Land Use and Transportation Committee (LUTC) is meeting on two critical cycling initiatives: 1. Northeast Georgia Rails to Trails 2. Share the Road signs for the county We need as many of you and your friends as possible to attend this meeting. By so doing we will be exhibiting to the committee that our community is fully supportive of both of these initiatives. Further, we believe that a large group will help increase the chances that the LUTC will positively endorse these initiatives (which endorsement is then passed to the County Board of Commissioners for a final vote). A positive vote from the BoC will open the way for us to begin identifying specific roads to install Share the Road signage! President Obama's health care reform is under attack here in Oconee County with a rally at the Oconee Veterans Park August 29. This is a good start to try and find a way to counter their lies hall over Northeast Georgia as well. Please attend this meeting if you can.
