Please attend the special screening of the documentary film "World's Smallest Airport" at the Sanctuary at 2nd and Barnett Shoals 7:00 pm Saturday evening,  March 10th. The film is very child friendly. Consider attending one of the fine area restaurants such as Kumquat Mae before hand if you can as they are donating 10% of the proceeds toward Team 6 of Project Safe's Dancing with the Athens Stars, which competes April 1st at the Classic Center.

Matthews, Jr. See the attached flier and the info below.  For those who may not know, Courtney lives in South Oconee.  She's a beloved neighbor, a great friend, and a HUGE advocate of South Oconee.  Oh yeah, and now she's a dancing star! Support Project Safe and Dancing with the Athens Stars

I got a big kick finding out about this through my healer/singer friend Wilma who is playing at the Melting Point Sunday night with a child friendly event you should all attend, but she is also going to be Dancing with the Athens Stars on Sunday, March 2, 2008. Wilma just received the proclamation from the city of Winterville for her song and video of the same name. She is amazing individual and talented singer/songwriter/guitarist/massage therapist and one of my favorite people. I can not yet personally vouch for her dancing talents but I am sure she will be one of the best people in this event and worthy of your donations. The description made me smile and want to attend. I think Project Safe is very important and well worth supporting. By then I should have enough $$ to contribute more than I can right now because of the season for giving to our family gifts, etc. I think dancing is one of the most interesting of the performing arts, and while I was not a big fan of the TV show, ...

Want to see our new jail and learn about sexual assault?

Come with us this Sunday, October 28th, to see the Oconee County jail ina special tour led by Sheriff Berry and hear a lecture about domesticviolence by the director of Project Safe. Here are the details:Joan Prittie, the Executive Director of Project Safe, will speak aboutdomestic violence and the expanded role her first-rate non-profit has taken on while the Sexual Assault Center is rebuilding. She'll speak this Sunday at 7 PM at the Oconee County Jail Complex in Watkinsville. The lecture is part of the Oconee County Democratic Party’s FourthSunday series that addresses topics of importance in our region, state,and nation. The lecture will be held in the hearing room of the complexand is free and open to the public. Attendees may also tour the jail with Sheriff Scott Berry before the lecture if they arrive by 6:30 sharp.
