Sons of Confederate Veterans The Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) is a 501(c)(3)  non-political heritage organization formed in Richmond, VA. in 1896.  It is not affiliated with any other organization. With more than 30,000 members, its aims are patriotic and educational. Membership is open to both lineal and collateral descendants of those who served honorably in the Confederate armed forces. The SCV has ongoing programs, meetings and activities at the national, state (division) , and local (camp) levels. Preservation work, marking Confederate soldiers' graves, historical reenactments, and regular meetings are activities sponsored by local camps. The SCV strives to see that history is presented accurately and to defend the good name of the Confederate soldier. cemetery tour

Subject: cemetery tour Just wanted to let you all know about a cemetery tour some of the Reverend John Andrew, NSDAR Historical Preservation Committee ladies are giving at the Watkinsville   City   Cemetery   next Monday the 13th at 9:30am.  If you are curious and would like to know more about the cemetery or catch up on our chapter's committee work there please stop in..everyone is most welcome. The tour should last about and hour and a half.  We have invited the local SAR fellas, our DAR chapter ladies, the Oconee Historical Society, the Garden Club ladies and a few of our Oconee Library ladies.
