Three Questions Nathan Deal Should Answer Immediately

Three Questions Nathan Deal Should Answer Immediately We know what Nathan Deal is going to say about the latest developments in the Ethics Commission cover-up. He'll deny, rinse, and repeat. This is the same move he's pulled every single time he's gotten into hot water. According to Deal, it's always someone else's fault. Question is, who will he blame this time? Yesterday, a damning memo was obtained by the AJC authored by Et...

BREAKING Bombshell memo: Deal's office "threatened" and "pressured" ethics chief

From: "Bryan Long, Better Georgia" Date:07/14/2014 3:31 PM (GMT-05:00) To: Dan Matthews Subject: BREAKING Bombshell memo: Deal's office "threatened" and "pressured" ethics chief Gov. Nathan Deal's house of cards is falling apart. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and WSB-TV, in a joint investigation, exposed a cover-up that reaches all the way into the governor's office. Documents uncovered by the state's largest media outlets show that Gov. Deal's top staffers "threatened and pressured" their hand-picked ethics chief to "make the complaints" against the governor "go away." AJC : Ethics chief claims Deal aides pressured her, threatened agency WSB-TV : Memo: Gov. Deal's staff interfered with ethics case The LaBerge Memo : Memorandum of Record by Holly LaBerge, July 17, 2012 (PDF) The previously secret document, written in t...

Jason Carter addresses supporters at the Melting Point Sunday afternoon, May 4, 2014

State Senator Jason Carter of Decatur wants to be the next Governor of the State of Georgia. The charismatic Democratic candidate faces no primary opposition in the May 20 Democratic horse race, unlike his likely opponent in incumbent Governor Nathan Deal (who faces two primary challengers in former Georgia School Superintendent John Barge and Tea Party endorsed Mayor David Pennington of Dalton). I would highly urge each and every reader of this blog to vote in the Republican primary May 20 and cast their vote against Nathan Deal. Furthermore, please consider voting for any of the Republican Senate candidates besides Paul Broun. Georgians have a real chance to get rid of Paul Broun once and (probably not) for all if he finishes third or lower in the Republican primary. Polls seem to indicate that there will be a run off between David Perdue and possibly Karen Handel or Jack Kingston in the Georgian Republican Senate primary. I cast a vote for Art Gardner for US Senate ...

Gov. Deal signs bill restricting some abortion coverage

By now it is to the point that Governor "No" Deal should go ahead and take everyone's right to anything away from you here in Georgia, so that maybe enough people will wake up, pull their heads out of their rectums, and realize what damage this Republican party has done to this state is quite comparable to what the Taliban have done in Afghanistan. Maybe this will be enough for a majority of Georgia voters to remember when it was illegal for a woman to decide her own health care priorities and Nathan Deal will be tossed on his can come November. Legislating morality is no way to govern ever. Georgia women will vote more than 2 to 1 against Deal and the GOP come November, if the Democratic Party of Georgia makes a big enough stink about this. " Gov. Nathan Deal has signed a bill into law restricting abortion coverage in plans for state employees and those sold on the insurance exchange as part of the federal health care law. Deal signed the bill Thursday, and it...

"For several years, Senate Democrats have pursued legislation that would create an independent ethics commission that would restore public confidence in the governmental process," said Sen. S...

Lt. Gov. Cagle comes back into full command of the Georgia State Senate

Senator still grumbling over power shift

Women. Against. Deal.

NATHAN DEAL’S ANTI-WOMEN VOTING RECORD ·          In 1988, Deal voted against FOUR domestic violence bills.  On one occasion - he was THE ONLY member of the entire Georgia legislature to vote against a domestic violence bill. ·          Deal also fought against the Georgia Domestic Violence Act that Roy Barnes sponsored.  The bill allowed police officers to arrest a spouse suspected of abusing another spouse without a warrant.  Deal opposed the bill because it would "violate the sanctity of the family." ·          In 1991, Deal wrote a bill that would dismantle Georgia's rape shield.  Deal's bill would have allowed defense attorneys to put a rape victim on the stand and question what she was wearing at the time of the crime, and her past sexual and social history.  In effect, it would have let defense attorneys suggest that a woman ASK...

We need some tough-minded Democratic Women at Harris Shoals Park in Watkinsville Thursday 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm

Come take out your frustrations on Nathan Deal at lunchtime tomorrow at Harris Shoals Park From: "jveit@bellsouth.net" jveit@bellsouth.net To: oconee@yahoogroups.com Sent: Wed, October 27, 2010 12:22:27 PM Subject: [oconee] We need some tough-minded Democratic Women Now!   Hello All: Moments ago, Jane Kidd sent me this email message. She is looking for some tough-minded Democratic women to confront Nathan Deal at Harris Shoals Park tomorrow. I know we got some. Please see the below message sent to me by Jane, and let me know who can be there. Thanks! Jonathan Veit __________________________________________________________ Hey Jonathan and Karen- I know y'all are working hard. Georgia G.O.P run off: Governor's edition

If you are a gay or gay-frinedly voter in Georgia who happened to pull the G.O.P. ballot in the primary, then you should vote for Karen Handel in the run-off Tuesday.  If you think any support of gay people is somehow immoral, then you should vote for Nathan Deal. So goes the common political wisdom in the Georgia Gubernatorial run off Tuesday. Or should it? I voted for Deal, but not because I think he is the better candidate. I think he is incredibly corrupt and intolerant, and I think he will be much easier for former Governor Roy Barnes to beat in Novermber because of this baggage. I think Republican women and many politically active women of all stripes will rally around Handel if she secures the nomination, and she would probably beat Barnes in the general election. I attended the Handel rally at the Oconee County Courthouse and was genuinely surprised at the amount of seemingly moderate white folks who attended this event. I did not attend the Deal event the following day...

Blake's blog documents Democratic blow back from local GOP hypocrisy, double standards

Even though a lot of members of the Republican hierarchy would welcome the Scott Brown special Senatorial election in Massachusetts as the death knell of the Democratic party, it seems to have been something of a wake up call for some more daring outgoing activists and groups, and Athens Banner-Herald reporter Blake Aued has cataloged a couple of these in his blog on the Banner-Herald website. The first of these recent entries concerns Georgia gubernatorial candidate and current Congressman Nathan Deal , who has decided to cast his fate in the Republican primary with those who believe President Barack Obama was born elsewhere than Hawaii, despite numerous and repeated refuted and conclusive proof that he is indeed a United States citizen. Local bloggers at Georgia Liberal challenged Mr. Deal to proof conclusively that he is indeed eligible to run for Governor of Georgia , and surprise surprise, the Deal election committee was not the least bit prepared to respond to this fair inqui...
