Few tickets remain for John Berry gig at Oconee Civic Center, so sayeth Enterprise newspaper

Local resident and HS football supporter John Berry is bringing his annual Christmas gig to the Oconee County Civic Center  8 pm Saturday, November 28th. Admission is $25.00 and may evidently be purchased by calling the toll-free number (877) 438-5646, according to the Oconee Enterprise newspaper. They say that less than a fifth of the capacity of the Civic Center's 500 seats remain for this two part performance. I would not confuse the local musician with this similarly named appointee to the Obama administration .

Oconee Leader footage of Congressman Broun's Town Hall at Oconee County Civic Center

This has been a rather busy news day in Oconee County, Georgia

Image
The turn out at the Oconee County Civic Center today for 10th District United States Congressman Paul Broun's Town Hall on Health Care was very diverse, packed as much as I have ever seen it for any event, and generally well behaved. I admit I was only there for a very few minutes as it took the better part of my fortunately early lunch hour to get there to snap these few shots. I want to thank Shawn Wheeler at the Oconee County Civic Center for putting this event together with little notice and probably less appreciation. Also Sheriff Scott Berry and his deputies who made sure the unusual parking situation did not get out of hand. I parked near right field at the Warriors baseball stadium. I doubt the Civic Center has seen that many people when school was also in session. They took a potential colossal clusterf*ck and made it work smoothly, perfectly and to the point. People did get rowdy and some blood was flowing stronger coming out then going in. Ryan Lewis tried to pass a ...

Editorial: Watkinsville isn't Athens, Congressman | Opinion | OnlineAthens.com

I wish I could take off work Tuesday to go and give Congressman Broun my opinion about health care and his performance at the Watkinsville Civic Center. But most people in Athens can travel down Hog Mountain Road to go let our U.S. House of Representative member know our/their feelings about health care reform. I hope we can avoid the stunts and stick to the facts, but I know we won't by in large. Editorial: Watkinsville isn't Athens, Congressman | Opinion | OnlineAthens.com Shared via AddThis

Broun to host health care forum at the Oconee County Civic Center 10 am Tuesday, September 8th

Sounds like another chance for people to butt heads, or at least let their opinions be heard. Let's hope the stunts and screaming are kept civil and at a minimum. I am more than willing to give Congressman Broun my opinion, but I will be working at the time to pay for my ridiculously expensive Blue Cross Blue Shield premiums.
