Sincerely,  Dan Matthews Date: Fri, 1 Mar 2013 10:08:42 -0500 Subject: The Pastures of Rose Creek: This Week's Harvest From: pastures1051@gmail.com To: Hi there everyone!  After the produce stand being on hold last week due to the Ga Oragnics Conference - we are back and equipped with all kinds of new and useful farmin' skills!  Which translates to more responsible, healthy practices for your delectable eggs and veggies!  Also it means we will open once more this Saturday 9am - 1pm. As the last of our winter kale comes to a close (don't worry though!, young, tender spring kale is on it's way!)....I am going to cheat this week and resend a past blog about escarole - just because it is so darn tasty and a good alternative for all you kale and collards lovers out there. You will also find at our produce stand.... farm fresh eggs pecans escarole radishes mixed greens and maybe some beets too! And here's a little info and rec...

Harvest From: pastures1051@gmail.com To: Silly me....somehow I sent an old email along with the new - working from a new computer this week.  If the last email seemed a little redundant - this may solve the problem....This week's email follows... Hello to all from The Pastures of Rose Creek! Hope this week finds everyone well! We have a lot going on at the farm this week from saving your lovely veggies from our ever-growing and demanding free range chickens (who having done their job at pest control around the garden area, now find that they desire the pretty green leaves growing in the garden - have no fear though! Damage has been minimal and the chickens are happy in their new location) to working our lovely cows and sacrificing another to our local abbatior. T-Bone, although you will be missed - I am sure you will also be tastey! And now...

Pastures of Rose Creek: This Week's Harvest

Sorry I did not get this up before the farmers market Sincerely,  Dan Matthews Date: Fri, 7 Sep 2012 14:27:52 -0400 Subject: Pastures of Rose Creek: This Week's Harvest From: pastures1051@gmail.com ! Well, we are kicking off this week's farmer's market with a VEGGIE OF THE WEEK!  And this week our fave veggie is the NEW MEXICAN GREEN CHILE .    Not only delicious and EXCELLENT roasted, served on a yummy grass-fed burger - it also holds a very special place in our hearts.  Taos, New Mexico is the memorable place where I met my husband, John - and where we met that spirited and fun-loving farmer, Will Powers (aka Willy P.), who planted the grass fed beef seed in us and brought us out to the farm in Watkinsville.  And there buried within all of our wonderful "Nuevo" (New Mexico, that is) memories - is the taste and smell of a New Mexico Green Chile.  So, come on out to the farmer's market this Saturday and bring a little...

Pastures of Rose Creek: This Week's Harvest

The weeks for the Farmers Market are starting to dwindle down..... Sincerely,  Dan Matthews Date: Thu, 23 Aug 2012 16:56:39 -0400 Subject: Pastures of Rose Creek: This Week's Harvest From: pastures1051@gmail.com Hello again from The Pastures of Rose Creek! They're coming!!!  They're coming!!! FARM FRESH EGGS are just around the corner!  Just yesterday Ann discovered the first official egg from our batch of chickens.  We have raised these chickens since they were wee little chicks (March 2012) and they have now reached maturity and are ready to lay their first eggs.  These chickens are happy, free-ranging chickens who spend their days doing what chickens do best - eating bugs and grasses and fertilizing our fields!  And now they will be laying happy, healthy eggs...1 chicken will lay approximately 1 egg every 23 hours!  So, keep an eye out for our market table - you should be seeing FARM FRESH EGGS in about 2 weeks....
