New book for July discussion: Fahrenheit 451

From: Pat Priest < ppriest@charter.net > Date: July 6, 2012 12:53:15 PM EDT To: Oconee County Democrats < oconee@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [oconee] New book for July discussion: Fahrenheit 451 Reply-To: oconee@yahoogroups.com   Hello! I was chagrined this month to begin reading the book on tap for the Oconee Democrats' book group -- Geraldine Brooks' "Caleb's Crossing," a book *I* had selected -- only to find that it reads like a teen romance novel. We've decided to scrap the book and swap it out for another: the classic "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury. The book is short, and it should be easy to pick up a copy if you'd like to join us to talk about books (and book burning) and the great Ray Bradbury, too. The time and date are the same: July 25th at 7 PM at Piccolo's restaurant in the Bell's shopping center in Watkinsville. Come early to chat if you'd like! Thanks! Sorry...

‘Black and Bleu’ Chris Brown, Rihanna Sandwich Chef Has No Regrets

Crossing the court recently surfaced by the Sprite contest I entered Oconee County in to win last night before the fireworks, I heard a loud "DAN!" coming from some tattooed dude that I did not recognize. I waved and followed my son on our original path. He thought better of it but I circled around and offered my hand and said "Happy Fourth of July." He asked me if I remembered who he was, and I responded "Remind Me?" He gave me the best eat shit and die look and said "Richard Miley." It was cool, I guess. My son asked me if they had suffered any loss of business, and I said he would have to ask the Chef or other owners. I had other people who walked their animals near my house, and I did not or do not want any business to suffer in Watkinsville or anywhere else, despite bravado and bluster. Go eat where ever you want in Watkinsville. ‘Black and Bleu’ Chris Brown, Rihanna Sandwich Chef Has No Regrets : The Georgia chef behind the controversial ...
