Watkinsville City Council fires Police Chief Lee O’Dillon : In a 3-1 vote, the Watkinsville City Council on Wednesday night terminated Police Chief Lee O’Dillon. Councilwoman Connie Massey was the dissenting vote, and Dan Matthews abstained. (A previous version of this story incorrectly stated it was a 4-1 vote).

Harden Hill will have sidewalks next year : Harden Hill Road has come a long way from its origins as an 18th century stagecoach path from Athens to Madison. Nowadays, more than 2,100 vehicles traverse the road each day, making it one of the busiest routes in Watkinsville and a connector to U.S. 441, Ga. Route 15 and downtown Watkinsville.
