Maybe they played loud enough for him to hear (OK I admit, this was a tasteless and cheap swipe at him and I should apologize. He has done a lot of good work for those who have hearing impairments. But I do think he should do a much better job of listening to his constituents regardless of his hearing ability. In the limited times I have seen Rep. Smith speak he would always be first to make fun of his own hearing situation as much as anyone ever would, so I guess I crossed some unspoken line of compassion and decency, so on behalf of all Democrats, I apologize.
