Fire station deal in play || OnlineAthens.com

Not to diminish the need of a fire station, but the fact that this can happen and they can't even consider buying the property next to the Elder Mill Covered Bridge speaks volumes Fire station deal in play || OnlineAthens.com

Watkinsville wonders about possible poker machines, passes hunting consignment and 3 hr. painting place

Image
The Watkinsville City Council meeting Wednesday evening was brief but to the point: Paige Hudspeth received approval for her business license for her three-hour group painting class called Paint with Class, and it will possibly be located at 8 School Street if real estate negotiations are completed as expected. Hudspeth explained that she can teach a group to complete paintings within three hours to take home paintings after an outing. She plans to primarily market to women, but will of course accept men. She says she has a knack for teaching people how to finish their works to take home with them. Paige Hudspeth shows one of her paintings to the Council Another amended business license will aim to accept consignment of hunting gear from primarily men, but will accept deer stands from women such as City Council member Samantha Purcell. The people who have been giving loans at Oconee Lending Group have decided to also have ATVs and golf carts in the parking lot shared with Sunshine

Vote 2010 campaign update

Image
Friend -- With Labor Day behind us, today marks the traditional start of the final stretch of campaign season. We've got a lot of work left ahead of us, but I want to make sure you know exactly where we are -- and where we're heading over the next 56 days. So I recorded a campaign update at OFA HQ to illustrate what you've helped build -- and to show you why we think the pundits are missing a key part of the story of 2010. Watch the update , and then please make a donation of $5 or more to help execute our Vote 2010 plan: Republicans believe they have a lot of reasons to feel optimistic this fall. They have made it clear what their goal is -- take control of the Senate and the House of Representatives, and roll back everything we've accomplished so far. Of the hundreds of races, control of both chambers could come down to just a few key contests decided by a handful of votes. That's where you come in. Barack Obama was only elected president becaus

A.J. Green eligibility ostensibly revolves around jersey sale on Ebay

University of Georgia All American wide receiver Adriel Jeremiah “A. J.” Green did not play in the Bulldogs opener against Louisiana-Lafayette, and the reason is ostensibly because of an ongoing NCAA investigation of whether Green sold a game-worn autographed number 8 jersey of his for $1,000.00, probably on the online auction site Ebay. Green supposedly has not fessed up to the online sale yet. The Summerville, South Carolina native is very much needed to play this week against his home state South Carolina Gamecock football team of Coach Steve Spurrier, according to most football analysts. None of this speculation has been substantiated or corroborated elsewhere, but the University of Georgia Athletic Association attorneys are involved with the investigation, according to consistent denials for comment from UGA coach Mark Richt. Initial reports concerned Green's attendance at a party in South Beach part of Miami, Florida at an agent's behest, but the Georgia wide receive

FW: This Labor Day

Matthews, Jr. Date: Mon, 6 Sep 2010 06:15:37 -0700 From: info@roy2010.com To: danmatt@hotmail.com Subject: This Labor Day   Dear Dan, On this Labor Day holiday, one in ten Georgians is out of work, and many others who work hard and play by the rules every day are experiencing tough times and are worried about their family's future. While our country is in difficult times, Georgians are facing greater pain than most. Without question, Georgia's next governor will inherit the difficult task of steering our state out of this mess. When I was Governor, we experienced a similar economic downturn after September 11th.  I was forced to make difficult decisions and prior
