Fran Millar's memo on what the GOP needs to do in the House

http://ww.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2009_10/house/jpegs/millarFran.jpg (borrowed from Jim Galloway) DATE: December 11, 2009 TO: Fellow Caucus Members FROM: Fran Millar RE: The Future During this difficult time, I have urged patience and stated that what is important is that we do this right. I had hoped Mark was going to announce in his letter that we would have an election prior to the session. I certainly did not expect his email stating he was pursuing other career opportunities and would not be running for Speaker. Hopefully, he will provide further clarity on Friday. Even in adversity, I believe everything happens for a reason. I agree with Jerry Keen that we have much to be proud of. We have been good fiscal stewards and most of the credit goes to Ben, his Appropriations Vice Chairmen, and their committees. Legislatively, the people of Georgia like what we have done with tax relief, immigration control and tort reform. However, as Republicans we do have a public image percept

ERICKSON: A political culture of corruption - Opinion - Macon.com

More sage advice from Erick Erickson about what is going on in the Statehouse. No other blogger can create the traffic on the right (and sometimes left) side of political blogs in the State of Georgia. ERICKSON: A political culture of corruption - Opinion - Macon.com

12-1-09 Oconee BOC should invest some of its $ 4 Million SPLOST funds in the Booth-Christopher-Marable tracts adjacent to the Courthouse Complex

Former Chair of the Oconee County Board of Commissioners Wendell Dawson discusses the need for decisive leadership concerning the neighboring tracts next door to the current Courthouse and even points out the flaws in the plans to build next to the jail on the Williams family tract only as an attorney could. I hope the SPLOST funds do not evaporate like the state coffers seem to have recently in wake of the Republican House leadership leadership vacuum. We still have not heard a peep out of our G.O.P. State House member in Bob Smith yet about this. Wonder why he has been so reticent recently? 12-1-09 Oconee BOC should invest some of its $ 4 Million SPLOST funds in the Booth-Christopher-Marable tracts adjacent to the Courthouse Complex

TONHS Operation: Soldiers Christmas! from Stephen Arnold

Our own State Representative Bob Smith has remained remarkably quiet about the incredible cannibalism going on amidst the higher echelons of the Georgia Republican party. Oconee County Historical Society December meeting

From the Oconee County Historical Society:             I know that December tends to get busy but we have some important business to discuss at our next meeting so we would appreciate it if you could make an effort to attend.  We will meet at Carson 's store in Farmington on December 14 th at 7:00.  On the agenda will be a discussion of possible guidelines for the history village that is growing at Heritage Park .  (How do we decide what building to accept?  What plans can we develop for decisions on where to locate the new buildings etc.) We also need to know your opinion about changing the meeting date from the second Monday of the month to the 3 rd Monday and nominations for next year's officers. Peach Pundit blogger drops bombs on Pearl Harbor day

I am not usually one to repost Erick Erickson's posts from Red State or Peach Pundit, but since this names names, I could not resist. Sounds like regardless of the results of the 2010 elections in Georgia, the G.O.P. will keep us entertained with their hypocrisy and sleaze.
