The Pastures of Rose Creek: This Week's Harvest

Sincerely,  Dan Matthews Date: Fri, 4 Jan 2013 15:48:08 -0500 Subject: The Pastures of Rose Creek: This Week's Harvest From: pastures1051@gmail.com To: Hello everyone!  And happy 2013!  Wow.  We made it - and without any cataclysmic cosmic events, poles shifting, or worldwide seismic disasters (phew!)....well at least none that I am aware of - we have hardly left our little oasis (the farm, of course!).  :) Well, this week at our produce stand we have... FARM FRESH EGGS PECANS TURNIPS ICICLE RADISHES BEETS KALE HEIRLOOM TOMATOES  ...no biscotti this week....sorry to all the biscotti fans!  I had a husband in great need of a lemon meringue pie...so really, blame him  :) And more veggies soon to come!  We now have 2 hoop houses up and planted to get a jump start on the spring growing season.  So, if the current veggie variety doesn't strike your fancy, keep an eye out - more is coming!...

Oconee Historical Society January Meeting

Subject: Oconee Historical Society January Meeting Happy New Year! Please join us for our first 2013 meeting at 7 pm, Tuesday, January 22 at Ashford on Main in Watkinsville. We recently completed our strategic plan and now have a clear focus for the future.  Three main concentration areas have been selected: identification of historic structures, collection of historic artifacts, and gathering of oral histories.   We want to begin with an inventory of historic structures so we are asking you to bring to the meeting a list of five "historic" buildings you find interesting. These structures can be ones you know a great deal about or ones you would like to learn about.  Even if you don't have names for the structures, addresses and/or photos of them would be helpful.  Our first step will be to start gathering and compiling interesting information about them.  It will be a big help to have you involved. At the meeting we will discuss ...
