Criminal probe in Pat Tillman death

The family of Pat Tillman will at the very least get some solace in the fact that the U.S. Army will now investigate the mystgerious circumstances of the friendly fire death of their football playing son in Afghanistan.

Here is a way to put your money where your mouth is as far as the debate over impeachment of George Bush and Dick Cheney.

Former5 Senator and Vice Presidential candidate john Edwards will be in speaking in Athens Apr. 8th

I know his wife and daughter have been here before, and I would bet he has been through here sometime in his life, but this is the first time I am aware of that John Edwards has spoken here. Maybe while the former N.C. Senator is here he can stay at Ashord Manor Bed & breakfast and eat at Maison Bleu.

Ralph Reed a liar? Here's more proof

It seems Ralph Reed starting digging his own political grave at least six years back.

At least Madison County can stop Ralph Hudgens rape of thier government

State Senator Ralph Hudgens is this area's answer to an overblown asshole who sucks up to the developers to the deteriment of his residents and likes to get involved in areas adjecent to his sphere of influence. Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for this jerk.

Yet another suck-ass piece of legislation developers are trying to ram thru

This will be of interest to each of you. I haven't studied this SR1040 in detail yet, but my initial reaction is one of dismay. Seems that the developers and property rights advocates are once again flexing their political muscle. Cheers, Tony P.S. New Georgia Encyclopedia: Watkinsville

Watkinsville City Council member Brian Brodrick could kick my ass in a cross country race, or even a cross Watkinsville jog for that matter. I might could take him in a 60 yard dash if we were going downhill. He asked me to post this description of Watkinsville from New Georgia Encyclopedia. I urge all readers to write the powers-that-be at the NGE and have them straighten out a little bit about Watkinsville's modern history. Hello Kelly Caudle, come to Oconee County and eat at our restaurants.

Very cool new group designed to alert residents in the Farmington/Bishop area and points south of there. I support them very much and wish them luck in various educational and activist pursuits.

Miss Vinnie needs to know about this attempt at taking her legal ad$ away

Legal ads are the lifeblood of many a small town weekly newspaper, and not just in Oconee County either. I think this again shows the lack of cooperation and secrecy with which Republicans want to operate in the dark. Shine the light on this crap.

Oconee Democratic meeting Thursday at Courthouse

James Holland of the Altamaha Riverkeeper will be addressing the Oconee County Democratic Committee 7 pm Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the Board of Commissioners chambers of the Oconee County Courthouse in Watkinsville. Last time this salt-of-the-earth gentleman spoke at the Library a couple of Republican Board of Commissioners came to hear him speak about pollution in our watershed. Holland is an old shrimp and crab fisherman from the far southern part of our state who noticed how pollution was adversely impacting his harvest, and he did something about it. He is far from a tree hugger, and more of a good old boy. But he has taken on towns ranging from Dublin to Darien and won as far as keeping our waterways clean. You do not have to be a Democrat to come listen to what he has to say. This is from their website: Holland and the Altamaha Riverkeeper James Holland grew up in Cochran, Georgia where hunting and fishing seemed as natural as life itself. He loved to roam the woods and reveled
