Wait. Who voted to support Chip Rogers at GPB?

----- Forwarded Message ----- From: "Bryan Long, Better Georgia" <bryan@bettergeorgia.com> To: danjmatt@bellsouth.net Sent: Monday, February 25, 2013 9:06 AM Subject: Wait. Who voted to support Chip Rogers at GPB? Better Georgia Better Georgia - Progressive Politics & News On Friday, the Georgia Senate finally voted on Chip Rogers. Until now, senators ignored your signed petitions, even running from television cameras to hide behind office equipment. But that ended Friday when Sen. Horacina Tate offered an amendment to move $150,000 from the Georgia Public Broadcasting budget to the education budget. 13 senators chose to support education over Chip Rogers and Gov. Deal's political appointment. But 35 senators voted to keep Chip Rogers' $150,000 taxpayer-funded salary in the state budget. Remember, these are the same senators who decided in November that Chip R

The Pastures of Rose Creek: This Week's Harvest

Sincerely,  Dan Matthews Date: Fri, 1 Mar 2013 10:08:42 -0500 Subject: The Pastures of Rose Creek: This Week's Harvest From: pastures1051@gmail.com To: Hi there everyone!  After the produce stand being on hold last week due to the Ga Oragnics Conference - we are back and equipped with all kinds of new and useful farmin' skills!  Which translates to more responsible, healthy practices for your delectable eggs and veggies!  Also it means we will open once more this Saturday 9am - 1pm. As the last of our winter kale comes to a close (don't worry though!, young, tender spring kale is on it's way!)....I am going to cheat this week and resend a past blog about escarole - just because it is so darn tasty and a good alternative for all you kale and collards lovers out there. You will also find at our produce stand.... farm fresh eggs pecans escarole radishes mixed greens and maybe some beets too! And here's a little info and rec

The Sequester

From: "The White House" < info@messages.whitehouse.gov > Date: March 1, 2013 5:34:35 PM EST To:  Subject: The Sequester Reply-To: info@messages.whitehouse.gov Friday, March 1, 2013 Starting today, our government will need to grapple with a set of arbitrary budget cuts that will hurt the economy, make life harder for middle-class families, and threaten our national security. That's what Washington means when it talks about the sequester. Not everyone will feel the consequences of these cuts immediately, but if sequestration is allowed to continue, it will make life more difficult for Americans all across the country. That's a fact that no one disputes. And the reason we are here is because some members of Congress have made a choice to prioritize these cuts over closing tax loopholes for the wealthy. But there is still time for them to make a different choice and undo this manufactured crisis. Today, President Obama discu

The Pilots ROTARY (thanks Chuck Toney) Club in Oconee County worked hard to put this new handicap access ramp on Rocket Field in Watkinsville, according to Mayor Charles Ivie at the recent city council meeting. He praised their resourcefulness, skill and craft in difficult and challenging pitch and grade of the popular area for Little League baseball games, softball practices, and the Fall Festival.

Ernest Boland: Pillar of the Athens community and alleged child rapist

Pedophile Boy Scout rapist defends Paul Broun just before his recent death

This was the beginning of the end for one recently deceased Scoutmaster Ernest P. Boland, who raped dozens of young Boy Scouts in the Athens area for at least the last thirty five years while hiding behind the cloak of Boy Scouts of America and the Beech Haven Baptist Church. His endorsement of Paul Broun here speaks volumes and anyone who seriously thinks Broun should be elected Senator should not be taken seriously except as a threat against society. The unvarnished truth about Boland was published posthumously about Boland this past Sunday in the Banner Herald. Time for some serious political collateral damage and the punishing of those who protect child rapists. Read the comments and see how many were banned before the crime is already rendered in the pages of the LA Times among other stronger  conduits of journalism integrity. Once again the Republican party comes down on the wrong side of history Boland: Don't bring Broun down
