On Friday, the Georgia Senate finally voted on Chip Rogers.
But that ended Friday when Sen. Horacina Tate offered an amendment to move $150,000 from the Georgia Public Broadcasting budget to the education budget.
13 senators chose to support education over Chip Rogers and Gov. Deal's political appointment.
But 35 senators voted to keep Chip Rogers' $150,000 taxpayer-funded salary in the state budget.
Remember, these are the same senators who decided in November that Chip Rogers wasn't fit to serve as their Majority Leader.
Sen. Jack Hill, chairman of the powerful Appropriations Committee, didn't even want to talk about Friday's vote.
"I don't know if you are trying to send a message or not, but this is not a message to send today," Sen. Hill told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Not the message to send?
Education is more important than Gov. Deal's cronyism. Seems like a message every Georgia lawmaker should learn.
Let's find out if Sen. Hill is ready to listen today.
Send an email to Sen. Hill (jack.hill@senate.ga.gov) or call him at his office: (404) 656-5038.
But don't stop there. Find your senator at the links below and send them an email thanking them for their support of eduction or telling them to stop standing up for their buddy Chip Rogers.
It's time to turn up the heat on our lawmakers as they make the final decisions on the Georgia Public Broadcasting budget.
The budget has not been approved and could be changed any day the General Assembly is in session.
Sincerely,
Executive Director
