Rock trivia boasts paranormal activity - The Red and Black : Variety

I met some amazing and interesting people, all of whom made a very positive impact on my life. It was fun every Monday I could make it even though we constantly finished third to our foes Team Knockwurst and Billion Dollar Babies, all of whom had membership in the low teens with several walking rock and roll encyclopedias on each opponent.  We never had more than eight I think at any one setting and were always nestled in between the two mega-teams mentioned above. Thanks to Doug, Mark, Julie, Wes, Barbette, assorted Canadian metal experts who's daughter attended Athens Academy with mine, friends of friends who passed through for maybe one game and whose name I forgot many ciders ago, and everyone else who played, I enjoyed it weekly. Athens-Clarke homelessness and Oconee's answers to it

It has become increasingly routine to wake or otherwise disengage homeless people sleeping in alcoves, stoops, and semi-heated areas near doors of businesses in downtown Athens, Georgia. I call the non-emergency number at the Athens- Clarke County police in a nearly daily basis in a constant battle to get someone up from sleeping in the entrance to the building I work in (where there once was a homeless shelter). I wish there was more local shelters and people working with their hearts and minds to try to lessen the burden of the homeless here, and State Rep. Spencer Frye has put his money where his mouth is in working with Habitat for Humanity locally. There are various places for the homeless to get help including the Salvation Army shelters at 784 N. Chase Street or 484 Hawthorne Avenue in Normaltown that have strict sobriety requirements as well as Athens Area Homeless Shelter www.help athens homeless .org Google+ page 620 Barber St Athens, GA (706) 354-0423

Legalize medical marijuana now. Georgia families can’t wait.

Legalize medical marijuana now. Georgia families can't wait. From: bryan@bettergeorgia.com To: danmatt@hotmail.com Date: Wed, 19 Nov 2014 15:21:49 +0000 Better Georgia - Progressive News --> Right now, we have a chance to do something extraordinary. We have a chance to stand up for Georgia families with members who have life-threatening illnesses that are treatable by medical marijuana. Currently, many Georgia families are faced with an impossible decision: Wait for lawmakers to advance legislation or uproot their families and seek treatment in other states. This is a decision that no family should have to make. That's why Better Georgia has launched a petition calling on our legislators to legalize medical marijuana in Georgia. With strong support from 69 percent of doctors , the parents of children who suffer from severe seizures and the public, it is time to legalize medical marijuana in Georgia. >>> CLIC

North High Shoals speed bump bounce wrath of Oconee powers that be

From: Fred Johnson Date:11/30/2014 9:07 PM (GMT-05:00) To: Fred Johnson Subject: TONHS speed bump issue TONHS Residents, The county is starting to hear some push back on the speed bumps, and they are talking to the town about removing them.  I am for the speed bumps because they seem to be the only thing that slows cars down on this heavily traveled road with a nice hill in it.   I know there are those amongst you who do not care for them.  The vast majority of people who talk to our town council members want to keep the speed bumps, but the county is hearing from some who want them removed.  If you are one of those people the county is not hearing from, we would like you to make your voices heard.   Here are their email contacts.
