Watkinsville's Jonathan Wallace quoted in Red & Black article about Rails Girls web development camp at UGA

“When I began to learn this stuff, I would go online and find people who had more experience, ask them questions,” said Jonathan Wallace, a Rails Girls coach and web developer from Watkinsville. “They would respond and help me out and help me through problems that I might face, so for me this is a chance to do that and give back to the community and people who are just starting in this, the same that others did for me.” Athens Rails Girls seek to close gender gap in web development

January 11, 1952 Red and Black newspaper editorial written by my father

The Red and Black newspaper News Editor Dan Matthews, Sr. page 4 editorial January 11, 1952 Crowing or Clucking The legislature cock is commencing to crow. As the representatives empty into Atlanta from 159 sources and start falling to one side of the fence or another, the chanticleer perches firmly in the center of the top rail and voices his harsh welcome. I would love to be able to bike to Oconee Veterans Park without taking my life into my hands (and that of all the other drivers on the streets). Bikers go 300 miles in 30 hours | The Red and Black

Travelling circus hosts rare acts and unusual professions - Variety

I am a little conflicted about the circus coming to town (or county). I believe they are certainly entitled to make their living, but I just wish they would take better care of their animal acts. There have been a bazillion free tickets floating around so I can only imagine how many other things they are going to hawk on the grounds of the Heritage Park near Farmington this week. This article is in today's Red and Black newspaper on campus at UGA. Travelling circus hosts rare acts and unusual professions - Variety
