t's time for Donald Trump to drop out of the race for president of the United States. People who run for public office typically perform a great public service, regardless of whether they win on Election Day. That's particularly true of presidential candidates, most of whom must devote two years of their lives to hard-fought campaigns that involve staggering personal and financial sacrifices, all in an effort to serve their country. And then there's Trump. In the five weeks since he announced his campaign to seek the GOP nomination for president, Trump has been more focused on promoting himself, and his brand, than in addressing the problems facing the nation. If he were merely a self-absorbed, B-list celebrity, his unchecked ego could be tolerated as a source of mild amusement. Barber Creek Drive gets an asphalt twist temporarily Thursday

Watkinsville, Ga. – Georgia DOT announces traffic on Barber Creek Drive will shift to temporary asphalt Thursday, if weather allows. “This work moves traffic so crews can extend the culvert to allow the creek to run under the roadway. Please slow down, follow the signs and barrels as everyone gets used to this change. Other work continues on the project; crews are grading, paving, installing new drainage pipes and new utility lines along the project,” explained Harold Mull, Georgia DOT District Construction Engineer. The project will widen Mars Hill Road/Oconee Connector from State Route 316 to State Route 53/Hog Mountain Road improving mobility locally in Watkinsville and for the region in to and out of Clarke County. The new road will have four lanes that are 12 feet wide with a 20 feet wide grassy median. It will also have bike lanes and a sidewalk in each direction.
