2nd round OCHS Football Game v. Cedar Grove ALSO Moved to NOHS

From: OCONEE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL Date: Thu, Nov 19, 2015 at 3:53 PM Subject: Football Game Moved to NOHS To: lowellsdad@gmail.com A message from OCONEE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL Because of field conditions at Warrior Stadium, the second round playoff game between Oconee County High School and Cedar Grove High School will be moved from OCHS to North Oconee High School.  The field has simply not recovered from the effects of recent saturation to the extent necessary to make it playable.  Staff from OCHS and Oconee County Schools along with volunteers from our community went to great lengths this week attempting to get the field ready for Friday night's game, and we are grateful for their efforts. System employees, coaches, players, parents and fans laid a tarp on the field in the hopes that we could host the game this week.  OCS continued to work with an outside turf company in an attempt to get the field in playable condition.   After consulting with our administration,

Watkinsville City Council listens to Bishop Family about Morrison Street development along with other concerns at Wednesday meeting

Image
Mark Campbell, city engineer The Watkinsville City Council listened to Luke Bishop and members of his family unveil a proposed COMMERCIAL cul-de-sac subdivision development in one of the more over-traveled and under-prepared roads in Watkinsville, and that is Morrison Street. Three members of the Bishop family were present. The proposed commercial lots border family dwellings to the west toward Colham Ferry School, and the industry development to the east including many different businesses toward Highway 15. They employed Landscape architect Bob Smith, not the former State Representative/current realtor, to talk to the city council about the preliminary plans. City engineer Mark Campbell did a very good job of explaining the process and helping to address a variety of concerns about possible cut-de-sacs and or turning radiuses for fire trucks and what not. Questions and answers were many from a variety of Bishops and council members. This L-shaped cut through has

Blueprint of new town hall for North High Shoals

Image
TONHS Residents, Monday, Nov 16, is November's meeting and here is the Agenda: park update, street update, town hall, and Christmas parade.  The council is very close to finalizing the plans for the town hall.  I have attached the latest drawings for the town hall for you to review.  As I have watched the process over the past year I am very pleased with the result.  They have been very open to input from each other and residents while also actively discussing the impact of every little detail on the town budget and good use of SPLOST funds.  Their plan has changed a lot over the months, and I am sure there will be a few adjustments tomorrow night.  If you would like them to hear from you please attend. I have also attached the draft minutes from October's meeting. Thanks, Fred
