Jan. 20 -- Say No To "Citizens United" Reply-To: info@coffeepartuyusa.com Hi Dan, On Friday Jan. 20, the Coffee Party is joining  Move to Amend   and democracy advocates across the US to hold more than 80 rallies in front of federal court buildings, including the US Supreme Court. These rallies will launch grassroots campaigns for ballot initiatives and resolutions rejecting the "Citizens United" decree for unlimited, anonymous spending to influence our elections. Momentum has been building in recent months, with resolutions passed by city councils in  Los Angeles   and  New York City , and the  Montana  Supreme Court asserting that states have the right to prevent the corporate purchase of their governments.  Let's make this happen in states, towns, and cities across the country. Historical Society dues

----- Forwarded Message ----- From: psommer <psommer@bellsouth.net> To: 'psommer' <psommer@bellsouth.net> Sent: Tuesday, January 17, 2012 9:28 AM Subject: hi Just a quick note to remind those of you who didn't make our meeting last night that it is time to pay dues again.  Several of you on this e-mail list are there because you have expressed an interest in our activities.  I would encourage you to take one more step and join us as official members.  Dues not only help us continue as a society but they also give us funds for programs such as the work we are currently doing at the Watkinsville Cemetery .  We will be applying for a grant to help us with that project which requires us to match what we ask for with money already dedicated for the project.  Your dues will help us with the grant and in that way you will be doubling your impact.  Here's what it costs to become a member and where to send the check.
