I would be proud for my son to play for Coach Mark Fox at UGA, who lives in Oconee County. I hope we beat Florida today. I have had the pleasure of coaching and scorekeeping for my son's Premier League team out of Athens Academy, and they had the number of Coach Fox's son Parker's team at Oconee Middle for the last three years. The Oconee blue lost maybe 9 straight to the Spartans going back for three seasons of Premier League play. The Oconee kids are just as talented, well coached and have even better shoes for the most part, but the Athens Academy 10 were a little taller and faster when it was crucial. They came close to beating the Spartans this season but have yet to crack the Spartans streak of dominance. The Oconee kids have a seriously talented point guard in Jace Baughans, who can sink that step-back three with authority. I hope Coach Fox can develop UGA into a perennial basketball powerhouse.
