The only other mover in the 2016 class it outside linebacker Jaleel Laguins . The 6-2, 207 pound athlete tested off the charts at Georgia Friday night and you put that with his tape -- it is very impressive. Laguins was offered by Auburn and Georgia at camp last weekend and Florida and Penn State each offered in June. The Watkinsville (Ga.) A 20-year-old Athens man charged Thursday with molesting a 12-year-old girl at her home in Oconee County had assault charges dropped against him in Athens for an alleged attack on a 13-year-old girl in 2013. Rivington Bradford Jr., is charged with aggravated sodomy, child molestation, false imprisonment and rape for Thursday morning’s attack on the girl in her home, located in a neighborhood off Epps Bridge Parkway, according to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. Bradford remained in jail Friday morning without bond. Bradford was arrested in July 2010 for assaulting a girl in Athens who told police he began sexually assaulting her, until her brother entered the room and attacked Bradford, police said. Bradford was charged with sexual battery in that incident, but a Clarke County grand jury declined to indict him on the charge. Regarding Thursday’s attack, Oconee County Chief Deputy Lee Weems said Bradford knew the family in whose home he was visiting. He is

We now have an opponent in Georgia's 10th District U.S. Congressional race. All of our groundwork has led to this kickoff and now we can continue on this path to victory in November. I know this race will not be easy, but with your help, I believe we will win . I am excited to bring fresh and effective leadership to Georgia. I am the only candidate that can do this.  As your next Congressman, I will tackle the issues that are affecting working families and their futures. I have traveled throughout the district and I know there are many pertinent issues facing families today. My background as a lawyer and businessman has taught me that we need job creation to revitalize our economy. Businesse

Organizers hope Saturday's 10th annual reenactment of lynching will be the last

Civil rights activists sponsoring Saturday’s 10th annual reenactment of Georgia’s last known mass lynching expect a large crowd from across the state, but hope they won’t have to keep reliving the bitter history much longer. The reenactments of the 1946 killing of two black couples on the Moore’s Ford Bridge in Monroe, Ga., were designed to rattle the consciences of some of the 200 or so witnesses in hopes they would come forward and lead investigators to the perpetrators who have escaped prosecution all these years. Last year, one man did come forward to relay tales he had heard as a boy of his family members recounting atrocities they participated in against blacks. The event organizers have written the chairmen of the congressional judiciary committees to ask for hearings to pressure federal investigators to step up their actives. One organizer, state Rep. Tyrone Brooks, president of the Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials, speculates that part of the

Georgia Republican Candidate: Secularism Causes STDs And Crime

Jody Hice: Citizens need 'cannons, bazookas, missiles'

have a bad feeling that this will become a running theme in the years ahead, but ... Earlier this week, Jody Hice won the GOP's nomination for Congress in Georgia's 10th Congressional District, the seat held for now by Paul Broun. In fact, Hice took won the runoff rather easily, despite -- or more depressingly, because -- of his highly controversial positions on women's rights and the First Amendment, among other issues. Given the demographics of the district and the fact that Mitt Romney carried it by 26 percentage points, Hice is almost certain to win in the fall. So for another taste of what's to come, and of the national exposure that Georgia is likely to get, there's this, courtesy of Right Wing Watch: If you can't access the video, here's the transcript of Hice's remarks from his local radio show: "We've got to keep vigilant in having the right to defend ourselves and to possess any weapon that we want to possess. Scandeal Date: July 21, 2014 at 8:11:40 AM EDT Reply-To: bryan@bettergeorgia.com   Without exaggeration, last week was THE   single most important week   in Georgia's governor's race. Gov. Nathan Deal's team is falling apart as the governor is facing mounting pressure to come clean about his ethics scandal and the cover-up. Better Georgia needs your help TODAY.   Will you chip in $3 to keep the pressure on Gov. Deal to tell the truth? Gov. Deal's new problems started at the beginning of the week with an uncovered bombshell memo from Holly LaBerge , Georgia's ethics chief. She revealed a series of text messages and phone calls showing the governor's top staffers   threatened   and intimidated   her about the ongoing investigation into Gov. At the June 10 meeting the council focused on traffic calming on Hilsboro Road.   Several good ideas are outlined below, but the aspect the council is wrestling with most is cost versus impact.   Some of the ideas with the best potential impact for the town have a high cost. The June 16 meeting looked into th
