The Pastures of Rose Creek

 

     Our second Egg Mobile recently got a makeover! The new design features some personified eggs riding a bike and our resident German Shepard, Duke! The Egg Mobile was painted by some friends, Kiley and Shelby, who stopped by for a few days during a cross country road trip and volunteered to design and paint the egg mobile! A special thanks goes out to them! Check out the picture below!

Where to find us...

  • Athens Farmers Market - Stop by our stand at Bishop Park from 8am to 12pm. We will have our wonderful Piedmontese grass-fed beef fresh as well as our free-range eggs for sale! 
  • Oconee Farmers Market -  We'll be Downtown Watkinsville by the Court House from 8am to 1pm. Our Piedmontese grass-fed beef and free-range eggs will be for sale! Also, we'll have squash, cucumbers and peppers!
  • Wednesday Athens Farmers Market - We'll be at the parking lot next to Creature Comforts Brewing Company, 271 W Handcock Avenue, from 4pm - 7pm! 
  • Sunday Farm Stand - Come by the farm stand 2pm to 4pm on Sundays and get some fresh produce and beef! We are at 1051 Rose Creek Drive, Watkinsville! Be on the look out for the signs on Colham Ferry Road!

 

Sunday Gold Club

 
     Last week, we had quite a few customers come out to our Sunday Farm Stand! We look forward to seeing more of you on this little piece of heaven! For this week, our Gold Club Special is that you get a choice of free squash or cucumbers when you purchase $20 of beef!

     For the new subscribers - Our Gold Club is a Sunday Farm Stand discount that we offer to our Newsletter subscribers! Our farm stand is located at 1051 Rose Creek Drive, Watkinsville, GA and will be open from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday. Look for the signs on Colham Ferry!

Jeff Dantzler's arrests may be the best thing that ever happened to him

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. I work for a lawyer who could help him out if he does not having someone already representing him. This man is a great broadcaster and I hope this arrest serves as a wake-up call for him and his rock and roll lifestyle. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

The booking photo is not to be placed on any web page that charges a fee for booking photo removal. Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
