Free Comic Book Day a huge success at Mr. Comic Book Store in Watkinsville
At Mr. Comic book store in Watkinsville today kids and parents of all ages were allowed to walk out the store with five free comic books available on the back wall of the store. Owner John Crowe kept the store stocked and rows age and height appropriate in the crowded downtown retailer. Comic books offer an alternative world view for children of all ages, an escapism and guide to imagination and discovery readily available to all that come in the doors. Comic books are seldom kept in a library, but this store was like a hallowed den of opportunity for everyone to expand their minds. Graphic novels like Maus and the Watchmen have grown up from the basic comic book to even make it in some collegiate classes. Whether it is the Walking Dead or the Justice League, Batman or the Avengers, every title was available somewhere in the store.
