House Member Paul Broun keeps head in sand, Sees NSF as a 60-Year Mistake - ScienceInsider

Buffoonish embarrassment excuse for a Congressman in the 10th district of Georgia Paul Broun turns his back on 60 years of scientific gains and innovations. Perhaps it is time we turn our back on Paul Broun and vote in Russell Edwards. House Member Sees NSF as a 60-Year Mistake - ScienceInsider

Bike to Work day May 21

Please be considerate and give plenty of room to bicyclists commuting to and from work. I saw my friend and Watkinsville City Council member Brian Brodrick biking up dangerously narrow Simonton Bridge Road last night and I always give any bike rider plenty of room when I drive by and feel guilty burning diesel in my big red pick up truck. Also drivers please be extra wary of large turtles and armadillos not to mention bicyclists. I have heard tell or seen dead two of each recently in my repeated commute. I was very pleased to see my thoughtful mail carrier Bob Mason go well out of his way Tuesday to pick up and move a huge snapping turtle and move it across the road, only to see a bigger than football sized shell smashed somewhere between Morgan Manor Estates and Taylors Landing subdivisions soon thereafter on the other side of Simonton Bridge/Whitehall Road. Brian and Tony Glenn told me there was another large smashed turtle or tortoise shell up by the cemetery closer to downtown Watk

In case you missed it: Here's the plan

Friend -- If you didn't catch Monday's strategy session, here are the video highlights and an in-depth look at what you missed: http://my.barackobama.com/2010StrategyHighlights First, we're going to continue to support the President on critical issues. Success in the 2010 election depends upon highlighting the choice voters have in front of them, so we'll be working hard to build support for Wall Street reform, a clean-energy economy, immigration reform, the confirmation of a new Supreme Court justice, and other key priorities. A key piece of this is to continue to tell the story of President Obama's leadership and what we've already accomplished together. On health insurance reform, 3 million of you took action to voice your support for a law that reduces costs, increases access, and puts an end to some of the worst insurance company abuses. While there's still a long way to go on the economy, we're on the path to recovery. With your suppor

Hate speech on local sports talk needs to stop

For the second day in a row May 5th, 2010, notorious local sports radio mouthpiece and recently DUI accused Georgia fan Jeff Dantzler of Cox Radio's 960 the Ref (broadcast out of Bogart) decided to needlessly inject a political slur into what is usually a fairly entertaining and informative afternoon talk show. Neither time, taken by themselves, would warrant any action, but this is not Dantzler's first trip to the woodshed, so to speak. Jeff's antipathy toward anyone left of Ronald Reagan is well known, but this time he decided that all left wingers hate our government. I responded for the second day in a row in the most effective way possible, and that is turning off the radio. I would expect something this sophomoric and juvenile out of someone with much less experience that Dantzler. Anyone who even gives a casual listen to the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity or Neal Boortz would realize the standard operating procedure of right wing radio talk show hosts is to dec

I was also informed that this was his third alcohol related incident this weekend by a reliable source. No major college team in America will take him now in this post-Roethlisberger era. He is certainly not going to transfer to Valdosta State. The groping allegations we reported a month ago after the G-Day game prove to be correct. Friend -- Don't forget: David Plouffe and I are holding a live, Vote 2010 Strategy Session online today at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time to outline OFA's plan to win in 2010.
