And the "recipe round up" continues this week as we explore more of the lesser known cuts with new and mouth watering recipes using our delicious Piedmontese Beef!  But first...a sneak peak at the fall garden... everything's coming up...brassicas (and other fall varieties). And for our more herbivorously (yup - it's really a word) inspired friends - the fall garden is teaming with verdant, new life!  Young kale and arugula greens assert themselves with every inch they grow - onions, cabbages, rutabagas, and beets all boast their emerald and kelly green crowns as they anxiously await the day they are "chosen"-  heralding their maturity and ripeness.   So - just a few more weeks until a cr

Standing in the hospital door

From: "Bryan Long, Better Georgia" < bryan@bettergeorgia.com > Subject: Standing in the hospital door Date: September 9, 2013 8:15:49 AM EDT To: Reply-To: "Bryan Long, Better Georgia" bryan@bettergeorgia.com On Oct. 1, hospital doors will open wide to millions of Americans who had long been denied insurance because of pre-existing conditions and to those who simply couldn't afford health care outside of emergency rooms. But in Georgia,   Gov. Nathan Deal has decided to stand in the hospital door and block access to affordable health care. Along with insurance commissioner Ralph Hudgens and the Tea Party wing of the Republican Party, Gov. Deal is working hard to make sure Georgians never see the benefits of the Affordable Care Act. On Sunday, the   Atlanta Journal-Constitution   took a long look at the coordinated effort to obstruct a law   that was passed by Congress, signed by the President and approved by the Supreme C

September meeting of Watkinsville city council short and to the point, but not without substance

LAD Trucking let the City of Watkinsville officially know Wednesday evening at the meeting at the Community Center of the urgent need to expand after an ultra-successful partnership with Carrier truck lines had made every inch of the expansive property on Barnett Shoals Road used as far as storage for the refrigerator front end of the cooler big rigs you see carrying frozen goods down the road.  Mack Guest IV of LAD Trucking With Caterpillar keeping the economic boom going locally, the need for trucking will continue to expand for a while, and Watkinsville will remain a hub in transit, metal, pottery, and glass for the foreseeable future. I’m not going to do anything in my power to make this law su
