The missing college student attended the Oconee County campus of Gainesville College before disappearing after calling from Wild Bill's in Duluth. His brother apparently died recently either from suicide or an accidental death during auto-erotic asphyxiation. No family deserves this much grief and heartache. Keep checking the Athens-Banner Herald for more details. Around 2040 Jan. 25 officers responded to a robbery that just occurred at a Baldwin St residence. Upon arrival contact was made with the victim who advised a person kn own entered his residence and demanded his medication. When he refused to give it to him, the suspect left. He returned with a baseball bat and again demanded his medication. When he refused, the suspect struck him in the head with the bat. The victim said while on the couch the bat was placed across his throat choking him. A female with the suspect grabbed the bottle of medication. The suspects entered a black Ford Expedition and left the scene. A lookout was issued and an Oconee County deputy located the vehicle and occupants at a convenience store in their county. The susp

Jack Murphy — Peach Pundit

If Erick Erickson at Peach Pundit and CNN realizes how having the banking chair in the Georgia State Senate being involved in the ownership of failing banks does not pass muster, then it is well past time to have someone with a spine do something about it. Hello Georgia Republican leadership, it is the clue phone on a line one, please pick up the phone and kick Jack Murphy to the curb. Jack Murphy — Peach Pundit

Our esteemed Congressman Dr. Paul Broun decides to denounce our President of the United States even before listening to or taking the time to read the State of the Union address or to participate in a largely symbolic gesture of sitting with a few members of the Democratic Party including the Udall family to show some degree of civility and cooperation. Ticketing a win fore nonprofits || OnlineAthens.com

Every Oconee County nonprofit should go to this meeting as did the Oconee County Historical Society last year. Maybe this year they can get more money toward sealing up the Central School House down at Heritage Park. Get free money from golf fans buying tickets to an event that is already entrenched in the local sports psyche. Can you say "win-win?" Good, I thought you could.
